Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
In a way that is true. We want to see success to believe in it. We want to see the facts in order to believe it. We want to see God in order to believe. But what if we put our sight aside and just believe, just take a leap of faith. Because all we really need to do is believe the unknown.
Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed."
When we take that leap of faith, God will be with us, he will not abandon us.
In Matthew 19:26 Jesus says that with God all things are possible. So if we question if something is impossible even though we say we believe in God, we have a lack of faith, we haven't put our full trust in God.
I guess what I believe faith is, is following without question. That must be where the term came from, because when you leap, there is no turning back. This is called a leap of faith. Trusting fully, even in the face of the impossible.
